What kinds of False Claims Act violations occur with government grants?

While frequently not pursued by the Department of Justice because of a lack of interest in prosecuting such fraud by the contracting agency, a lot of Government funds are spent on research grants. False statements or false research reports can trigger False Claims Act liability.
