What is a whistleblower?
A whistleblower is someone who reports to an employer, a regulatory body, or an oversight or review authority, the violation of a regulation, standard, or ethical obligation. Whistleblowers work closely with legal counsel, often false claims act attorneys, and the Government to carry out investigations of such violations. Ultimately, whistleblowers make possible the lawsuits that are vital to holding corporations accountable for violation of industry regulations and the prevention of fraudulent government billing.
